Friends at Colne Engaine School (FACES)

FACES – (Friends at Colne Engaine School) is our amazing group of volunteer parents and carers that hold lots of creative fundraising events to raise much needed funds for the school. On this page you will find information about future events and projects.

We are currently working hard to come up with some imaginative fundraising ideas that work with in the restrictions that Covid 19 brings. Watch this space!

The F.A.C.E.S team are always looking for new helpers and committee members, whether you can help by doing the supermarket run for film night sausages or can spare some time to help plan and run events, every little bit is appreciated.

Colour and Sparkle Non-Uniform Day

Thank you to everyone that took part in the colour and sparkle non-uniform day – we raised an amazing £228!!

Schools wish list

At our meetings we always ask Mrs Sarti for a wish list of items FACES and your generous donations can help buy for the school.

With current restrictions the children have really missed their singing and music lessons so one item on the list was some new musical instruments. With this in mind your money will help buy 15 glockenspiels to get some music back into the classrooms.

Each classroom has been given a pot of money for some new play equipment and craft materials and the bark in the play area has been re-filled.

Another on-going cost is the upkeep and replacement of IT equipment and software, so 5 more laptops will be bought to be used across the school and some new learning support software will be installed.

Usbourne Book Sale

Before we broke up for lockdown/summer we held a sponsored reading scavenger hunt and Usbourne book sale to raise money for new books in the school library

From these activities we raised an amazing £1633

to spend on new books!

Thank you so much to everyone that participated and came along to support the sale.

Pre-Loved Uniform Sale

Thank you to everyone that came up to the school in the holiday to browse and buy items from the pre-loved uniform sale!

The sale raised over £80!

We intend to do another sale later in the year so please do keep donating good condition uniform

We also need to replace the two clothes rails so if anyone has one in the back of a cupboard they would like to donate please get in touch

Covid 19 additional costs

I hope you will agree that our wonderful school has been amazing in putting measures in place to keep our children safe and protected from the current pandemic, however the school has received no additional funding towards the cost of these measures!

Some of the extra things include, but are not limited to

wipes for cleaning down surfaces

extra paper towels

additional toilet cleaning

hand sanitisers

class bubble packs

individual student packs

As you can imagine these costs soon add up, and with an ever-shrinking budget any extra donations we can make towards these costs really helps.

We will be setting up a just giving page in the coming weeks to raise some money to help cover these additional costs. More information coming soon!
