Friends at Colne Engaine School (FACES)

FACES – (Friends at Colne Engaine School) is our amazing group of volunteer parents and carers that hold lots of creative fundraising events to raise much needed funds for the school. On this page you will find information about future events and projects.

We are currently working hard to come up with some imaginative fundraising ideas that work with in the restrictions that Covid 19 brings. Watch this space!

The F.A.C.E.S team are always looking for new helpers and committee members, whether you can help by doing the supermarket run for film night sausages or can spare some time to help plan and run events, every little bit is appreciated.

NEW MEMBERS NEEDED

Many of the FACES teams’ children have grown up very quickly and are suddenly in KS2 and before we know it will be flying off to secondary school! With this in mind it is the perfect time for a new set of faces to join the team, learn the ropes and inject some new ideas before we disappear!

At the next AGM Holly Blackwell is stepping down as Chairperson and this leaves the role open for someone new to step in. Cat Owen is also stepping down as Secretary and Beth Humphries, Amberlies mum from Oak tree, has volunteered to take on the role.

If you are interested in joining the team or would like more information about the Chairperson position please drop us an email at [email protected]

Amazon Smile

You can now support F.A.C.E.S and the school when you shop on Amazon through Amazon Smile. It’s exactly the same as shopping on Amazon with the bonus that Amazon will donate a percentage of the price from eligible purchases to F.A.C.E.S.

Last quarter your amazon purchases raised £33.57 for FACES.

Schools wish list

At the start of each term Mrs Sarti gives FACES a school wish list of items the school really needs but does not have the budget to cover.

For the summer term the wish list includes new parasols for the outdoor lunch tables, the old ones have not survived the winter in storage and need replacing to help protect children eating outside.

Another item is replacement laptops. Upgrading and replacing electronic items is a continuing and very expensive cost for the school and with out additional support the cost is too much to keep equipment at its best.

Another on going, unexpected cost it Covid 19 measures. I hope you will agree that our wonderful school has been amazing in putting measures in place to keep our children safe and protected from the current pandemic, however the school has received no additional funding towards the cost of these measures!

Some of the extra things include, but are not limited to, wipes for cleaning down surfaces, extra paper towels, additional toilet cleaning, hand sanitisers, class bubble packs and individual student packs

As you can imagine these costs soon add up, and with an ever-shrinking budget any extra donations we can make towards these costs really helps.

FACES Just Giving Page

With restrictions still in place the ways we can fundraise are really limited at the moment. We are still trying to come up with different options that involve a fun activity or event for the children but to help cover the missed donations from the activities we can’t hold we have set up a Just Giving Page.

Our page link is:

Justgiving.com/campaign/FACES

This page allows us the still raise money for the school whilst events are limited. Currently the page is campaigning to raise money for the School Wish List items mentioned on the previous page.

Any amount you are able to donate makes such a difference to the school and the equipment available to your children. Donations can be anonymous if you wish and can be for any amount.

AGM

The FACES annual AGM is due to take place in April, we are finalising the details on the best way to run this meeting and once we have all the logistics in place will let you know the date and place/online details

If you are interested in joining the team or just helping out more at events it’s a great way to meet everyone and to see what’s coming up over the next term.

It is also a good way of seeing where all the raised money is spent and what we need to start raising money for.

Christmas Fundraisers

Thank you to everyone that took part in our Christmas fundraisers. The Christmas fair is one of the biggest fundraising events of the year and it was a real worry to not be able to hold it but with your support buying raffle tickets, thank you cards and Baubles we still raised a brilliant £858!!
